About JH Fitness

JH Fitness has been born out of my passion for sport and fitness, and my desire to make health and fitness a lifestyle choice for everyone, no matter what their age, sex or current fitness levels. I want to help people make their health and fitness a lifestyle habit, not just a phase for a few weeks, that not only makes them look good, but feel good too.

I am a fully qualified level 3 personal trainer and have been for the last two years. From a very young age, sport has always been a passion, whether it was football at school or rugby at university. It was whilst at university that I began to develop my interest in the gym and found myself watching videos and reading articles on how to train in order to ‘get big’.

I used this passion and knowledge to train my family and friends for the next three to four years, which is when I quickly realised I wanted to make a career from it, and haven’t looked back since.

I am currently based in Exmouth town centre and work at my local gym, Cranford Sports Club.

My Personal Successes

Completing university with a degree in event and sport management before opening my very own business is my life’s greatest success to date.

I’ve been successful in sports teams throughout my school and university life, competing in the 400m and playing an active role for various teams at university.

What motivates me is simple- seeing the people I train succeed and reach their fitness goals. I love working with my clients, helping them to improve their lives and feel great about themselves. This is why I love my job and look forward to going into work, and working hard, every single day.

About the gym

Having a great base for your personal training sessions is hugely important and, based in the heart of Exmouth, with JH Fitness that’s exactly what you get.

With a great range of equipment, from rowing machines and cross trainers to weights, kettle bells, benches, mats and much more, there’s everything you’ll need for high level training sessions that help you get fit and feel great.

One to One Personal Training

For the truly personal training experience, our one to one sessions will be right up your street. Enabling your trainer to focus solely on your individual needs without the distractions of other gyms users, you’ll soon be on the path to a fitter, more feel good you.

Through one to one personal training sessions, your trainer will quickly identify your areas of strength and areas where you need to improve, ensuring each and every session is tailored to your goals and ability.

With the option to have the training in the studio, at your home or outdoors, we pride ourselves on working to what our clients want and need, offering flexibility to suit you.

Group Training

Sometimes taking the plunge and going to the gym can be a daunting prospect when you’re on your own, which is why we run group training sessions so you can be part of a larger group and therefore feel less intimated.

With a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, our sessions are fun but hard work, so you’ll know you’ve been for a workout at the end of it! You can come with a group of friends or come alone and mingle with the other participants, it’s completely up to you.

Everyone is different and has different abilities, so we make sure that all sessions are suitable for everyone, no matter what their age or fitness level.

Group training is a great way to experience what getting fit is like and can be the perfect platform for you to move on to our one to one sessions later on if you wish.

Outdoor Training

When the British weather allows, there’s nothing better than outdoor training. Getting fresh air in your lungs and out into the local parks or on the beach can make a huge difference to your motivation levels and ultimately make the whole work-out experience more enjoyable.

During the summer and Easter periods, our classes and boot camps will be run either in the local park or on the beach and will be designed to suit all fitness levels.

Both one to one and group sessions can be run outdoors, weather dependent, so simply get in touch to request whether we can run your sessions outside.

Online Personal Training

Through our online personal training package, you get to benefit from one to one training that can be completed wherever and whenever it suits you.

How it works

Following an initial consultation, a diet and training plan will be designed in line with your specific needs, goals and abilities. It will also take into consideration you and your commitments, such as work and children, so it is truly based around you, your available time and fitness goals.

You’ll be getting all the same benefits as our one to one sessions, however they can be done when and where you have the time to fit them in. You also won’t need to go to the gym for every session or need to use fancy gym equipment either as we make sure to include exercises that utilise a number of everyday items you’ll find around the home.

It’s important to note that whilst you do get all the benefits of personal training, you’ll need to be highly motivated and be able to push yourself hard, even when you don’t feel like exercising, as you won’t have a trainer there to push you on in person.

Choosing your goals

Our online personal training packages can be suitable for a wide range of fitness goals, including but in no way limited to:

  • Fat and weight loss
  • Lean mass
  • Muscle gain
  • Strength
  • Sport specific (We have previously worked with rugby players with training focused around plyometrics to meet their needs)

Select your plan (6, 8, 12 weeks)

With JH Fitness, you have the option to choose from 6, 8 and 12 week online personal training courses. Each programme will be tailored to suit your goals to help you get the desired end results, however you’ll have to be fully committed throughout and put the work in even when you’re tired, it’s ‘hard work’ or you simply don’t feel in the mood to train.

If you go for our six week online training plan, you will receive:

  • Tailored six week training programme to help you meet your fitness goals
  • Diet plan to support your training

If you go for our eight week training plan, you will receive:

  • Free consultation in person or over the phone
  • Tailored eight week training programme to help you meet your fitness goals
  • Diet plan to support your training

If you go for our 12 week training plan, you will receive:

  • Free consultation in person or over the phone
  • Tailored 12 week training programme to help you meet your fitness goals
  • Diet plan to support your training
  • Fortnightly check-ins to assess progress
  • Performance review after 6-7 weeks to check on how you’re finding your training and diet plans
  • Unlimited contact with your personal trainer over the phone, by email or on Facebook depending on your preference

All programmes receive a full explanation of the plan, how it has been designed, what you’ll get out of JH Fitness and what we ask from you in return.
